Azo dyestuffs are the most commen and used dyestuff in the world. It is used for dyeing and printing on different fiber, like cotton and polyester. It is a common misunderstanding that all Azo dyestuffs are dangerous. They are not. Only Azo dyestuff listed in the MAK III list for banded Azo dyestuffs are dangerous and can cause cancer. But as there are a lot of copy dyestuffs produced in the world, mainly in Asia, it is always important to ensure that the garment, print or fabric isn't produced with dangerous Azo listed dyestuffs. The tests has to be made in a approved laboratory. |
